Anonymous Cell Phone NumbersA new startup company called Jangl (formally Buzzage) has released an anonymous cell phone number service. Their anonymous service works by giving you extra cell phone numbers which when called will redirect to your normal cell phone. The identity of your real cell phone number will be withheld at all times. Whenever you wish you can discard the anonymous cell phone number that you have been using and replace it with another one. When you sign up with Jangl you get access to a number of disposable cell phone numbers which will provide you with the anonymity you desire when handing out your contact number to certain parties and individuals. The Jangl anonymous cell phone number service even uses a challenge-response system so if someone calls any of your disposable Jangl numbers they will need to enter certain details into the keypad to get on a whitelist so they can call you. This works in a similar way to some challenge-response anti-spam email systems. More details on the anonymous cell phone number service from Jangl can be found here. |
