Half of Cell Phone Owners Don’t know their MakeWednesday, July 19, 2006 According to a recent study conducted in the UK by Ipsos MORI 58% of cell phone owners do not actually know the name of the cell phone model that they own. More surprisingly less than half (49%) of the cell phone users in the UK actually know the make of their cell phone, never mind the actual model. While it may not seem important for a cell phone owner to know the make or model of their cell phone it is especially important for customer service specialists and cell phone sales teams. If a customer does not know the model of their phone it makes giving technical support very difficult. For sales representatives it makes upselling additional add-ons for particular cell phones very difficult when the customer does not know which cell phone they own. This could mean that cell phone manufacturers may move to brand the model of their cell phone more clearly by making the model of the cell phone much more viewable to the owner by displaying it on the case and within the display screen.
