The Nokia 6288 3G slider phoneThursday, September 21, 2006 Nokia has announced its latest cell phone that supports the third-generation technology (3G). It is the Nokia 6288 and it is a slider phone that is expected to hit the market in Europe during the third quarter of this year with a suggested price of almost $410. Nokia has not revealed its plans regarding the availability of the Nokia 6288 in the North American region. If we look at the features of this slider phone we will see that Nokia has clearly intention to take advantage of the possibility to stream simultaneously voice and non-voice data. The Nokia 6288 has in fact an impressive QVGA color display that supports a 320x240 resolution to let the user enjoy the video calls or the newly introduced real-time video sharing feature. The user image is captured by a VGA resolution camera while a 2-megapixel camera let the user take good quality pictures or record a video. The process of taking the images is made easy by two camera and zoom buttons. To store the audio or video files the Nokia 6288 comes with an internal memory of 512MB. This 115g cell phone makes also possible to edit the video before sending them to other phones (using a MMS or an e-mail). The pictures can also be sent to a printer thanks to the cell phone support for the Bluetooth technology. Obviously it is possible to send SMS with the Nokia 6288 and it also supports video ringtones if you want further personalize it. The slider phone is available in two different colors (black and white) and is not bound to a particular phone carrier.
