Nokia 6300 is approved by FCCFriday, December 08, 2006 Nokia recently at the annual Capital Market Days in Amsterdam unveil several new cell phones. The most publicized was the Nokia 6300 that just received the green light from the Federal Communications Commission. This means that the delivery of the Nokia 6300 on the market will be able to follow the timetable set by the Finnish company. So we will be able to see it in the first quarter of 2007 with a suggested price (before taxes) of $328. The first thing that strikes when viewing the Nokia 6300 is the revamped outside look. It is very slim (106.8x43.8x13.1mm) even if is not the thinnest headset available. It has a stainless steel frame and it’s quite elegant with its smooth profile. The other thing that strikes the observer is the 2-inch QVGA screen that occupies more than half the front side of the Nokia 6300. The screen has a 240x320 resolution and can be also used to view the pictures shot with the cell phone. The Nokia 6300 has in fact two megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. The onboard memory is 135MB so there is enough space to hold the data. However if you want to add more there is also the possibility to use the included microSD slot. This way the Nokia 6300 can hold up to 2GB of data. In this quad-band cell phone Nokia also added several other features like MP3 playback ability, an FM tuner and a USB/PC sync software. There is also an integrated hands-free speaker and the possibility to use voice dialing, voice commands and voice recording. The Nokia 6300 comes with a battery that guarantees up to 3.5 hours of talk-time and 14 days of standby. Lastly Yahoo! has announced that will bring some of its services (including Mail and Messenger) to the Nokia 6300 handset. This will allow the user to sync the Yahoo! Contacts, use the calendar and handle the tasks.
