MOTORIZR Z8 | Motorola redefines slider phones

At the 3GSM wireless trade show in Barcelona, Motorola presented one slider phone that will try to reinvent the slider phone technology. This new Motorola slider phone is the MOTORIZR Z8. Its particularity is that when sliding, it bends toward the speaker mouth. According to Motorola this new design in slider phones will make the MOTORIZR Z8 very comfortable to use.

The MOTORIZR Z8 is also heavily oriented toward multimedia use. It sports a beautiful 16 million color QVGA display where the user can watch comfortably videos (up to 30 frames per second) or pictures.

The multimedia content to watch can be recorded directly using the slider phone. The MOTORIZR Z8 comes with a 2 megapixel camera that is able to shoot photos and video (using the MPEG4 format). The content can then be saved on the slider phone internal memory (90 MB) or onto an external memory. Motorola included in the slider phone a microSD slot that supports cards up to 4GB.

As for the phone capabilities the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 is a 3G slider phone that also supports HDSPA (for high speed data transfer). This slider phone also sports an impressive talktime of five hours. The MOTORIZR Z8 supports stereo Bluetooth so the customers can use wireless stereo headsets that support this specification.

The operating system used for the slider phone is the Symbian OS and it has an improved interface to implement one-click access to several phone functions. According to early reports this slider phone will be available starting from April. Motorola has yet to reveal the suggested retail price for the MOTORIZR Z8.
