Nokia 5610 with XpressMusic ReviewWednesday, January 16, 2008 ![]() XpressMusic comes riding back on the Nokia 5610 to make a better statement in the audio device market, which Nokia has been ignoring for quite some time now. So does it deliver? Lets find out. LOOKS AND BUILD The Nokia 5610 incorporates a slider form factor, this one is black and is covered in blue/red stripes. The drawback of the build is that its an all-plastic, which makes it a bit tacky. Weighing in at 111g and 17mm thickness, the phone is super cool, but a little bulky in comparison to some of the ultra-slim phones out there. The phone boasts a 2.2 inch super clear screen. Below the screen is a 2-way horizontal slider key which acts like a switch between the XpressMusic player , radio and standby screen. Under this is the navigation pad and the call keys. Camera button and volume keys line up the right side of the phone , while the top has the charging port and the headphone jack-in port. Rear of the handset has the 3.2 megapixel camera, and dual-LED which can double up as a torch too. The phone runs high on the design factor, and the slider is quite a reliable device. PERFORMANCE A couple small issues connecting to the network were experienced, but were nothing serious enough to worry about. The sound quality was average, but a better performance was achieved via the Bluetooth headset. The phone is no match for the Walkman series, and gets a beating hands down from the Sony Ericsson people. A 3.2MP camera takes decent photos in daytime, and the video playback is also a very respectable 15fps. CONCLUSION The phone was a little above average in performance, with the battery life providing about 6 hrs of talk time. Overall , this handset is a jack of all trades , performing above-average in almost every category tested.
