Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Phone coming Feb 13

Rumors have been running rampant the past few weeks regarding a Sony Ericsson-branded Android smartphone...

Well the rumors are no more - according to Sony Ericsson's Facebook page, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Android Phone will be announced on February 13th.

Sony has been hyping this handheld device to be much more than just an Android smartphone, but to also be a solid gaming platform too. Think of the Xperia Play as a PSP with phone features.

Sony Ericsson's new teaser video - while high on the 'creepy' factor, also leaves me not being able to wait to get my hands on an Xperia Play - what Sony Ericsson is billing as 'the next gamechanger'.



UPDATE: UK wireless phone providers O2 and Vodaphone have both tweeted that they will be carrying the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, while Orage and T-Mobile UK are signed up to get it in April. There is still no word of any North American launch date, or who will be carrying it on this side of the pond. Stay tuned for more as details become available.
