Cell Phone Internet Surfing Set to GrowWednesday, April 19, 2006 A study released yesterday by global research group Ipsos Insight found a significant increase in cell phone internet surfing from 2004 to 2005 and this trend is expected to increase. The group even predicts that in some countries cell phone internet surfing will become the primary way that the web is viewed with cell phone web surfing becoming an every day occurrence just like making a regular call on your cell phone. The most robust growth in the period studied is from the US, France and Japan. The reason for the growth in cell phone internet surfing between 2004 and 2005 is mainly due to the uptake of the technology from adults aged over 35. Younger adults appear to have already embraced the technology and growth in this age range is slow, although they still represent the largest proportion of cell phone internet surfers.
