Cell Phone Electric ShockFriday, April 21, 2006 Motorola are trying to make a cell phone that can alert their users of incoming calls and messages in a completely silent way. This is not a vibration but a mild electric shock. Motorola have recently filed a patent for cell phone electric shock technology. The cell phone electric shock technology uses small pads which are attached to the cell phone user and communicate with the phone wirelessly. Whenever a call is received the user will receive a mild shock as an electric current passes over the pads stimulating the user's muscles and alerting them of the call/message. Power levels of the electric shock can actually be set to allow a personalized "electric shock ring tone" for different callers. This is another interesting innovation in alternative ring tones after Samsungs Smell o Phone. For those of you who often get "phantom vibrations" phenomenon where you think your phone is vibrating when it is not will now get "phantom electric shocks" with this new cell phone electric shock technology when it becomes available. The cell phone electric shock technology is not expected to reach handsets for sometime but the innovation from Motorola is definitely an interesting one.
